( Basics )

(the PB is Kisumi Shigino from Free! Eternal Summer)
Name: Shōji Nakamori
Age: 16 (can be aged-up to 19 at max. 18 in [community profile] genessia )
Date of Birth: February 4
Height & Weight: 181 cm & 78 kg
Occupation: Student, courier for supernatural entities, superhero

( Personality )
Despite his petty criminal activities in the past, Shoji has a good heart. He's a disciplined person who just joined the wrong crowd. After moving back to Japan, he began to mature and correct the error of his ways. Driven partially by the guilt for how he was in the past and wanting redemption and a purpose in life. He cares for and is loyal and supportive to his friends, family, and even to total strangers in some occurrences.
➳ He dislikes harming anyone who don't deserve it, doesn't immediately resort to killing, and is more sympathetic of other people's plights than he realizes. He has come to value his job in helping earth-bound spirits with their unfinished business on the land of the living, making him a more compassionate person in general as time goes by.
Ambiverted - Shoji equally enjoys his alone time and hanging out with people in equal measure. He is always seen listening to music or eyes glued to his phone unless he is with friends or acquaintances where his playful and hyperactive personality shows. While he can have a sarcastic sense of humor, he is friendly and polite to strangers and likes to tease and play practical jokes and sleight of hand magic tricks on his close friends.
➳ Growing up in New York City for most of his life, and being raised in different values and customs, Shoji constantly feels that he can't truly fit back in to Japanese society, and finds it a challenge to make a good connection with others in his age. Because of this, he has few actual friends despite having a lot of acquaintances. But his guilt of his delinquent past and dangerous present lifestyle as a superhero may play a role here, as Shoji can be distancing himself subconsciously.
Street-smart and a little crass; Shoji is a total adrenaline junkie who likes to do dangerous and daring activities. He has no problem with trespassing in restricted areas and vacant residences, or even climbing skyscrapers. He even resorted to stealing in his younger years, if he feels the owner deserves it, although he gets better as time goes by.
Always on the move, this makes him good at improvising and make up strategies as he goes along.
His primary hobby is freerunning and urban exploration; where he explores abandoned places, construction sites and underground tunnels for his own amusement and the annoyance of the police. This made him good with directions and know the city like the back of his hand.
Shoji likes to make videos of city scenery and composing music in his laptop whenever he feels inspired. He is a talented musician and can play guitar and piano at a decent level of skill. He enjoys R&B, hip-hop, electronic, and even fervently enjoys music by a few pop idol groups as a guilty pleasure.
Enjoys exploring abandoned places, ghost hunting, investigating, scouting/infiltrating secured areas, going on social media sites, hanging out with friends, making videos, photography, fireworks, eating from food stalls and food trucks, gardening, fishing, beef jerky, breakdancing, practical jokes, doing impressions of people for laughs, teasing people, visiting the US (particularly New York City and Hawaii), idols, fighting and being a superhero, meeting more experienced and famous superheroes, performing magic tricks, and flirting, playing this-or-that/would-you-rathers (or FMK), ambient city noises, nighttime scenery, cats, dogs, men's fashion, cooking.
Abhors going to hospitals, killing people (unless there's no other or better option, monsters are exceptions) moral dilemmas, his past, natto, reading, being idle for too long, in-ear headphones, snow storms, humid weather, bullies, poor sportsmanship, hammy enemies and speeches, diet soda, mopeds, loud people in movie theaters, summer, soggy fries, rural areas, deadlines, mid-term and final exams, pop-quizzes, non-confrontational people, try-hards, trolls, ill-fitting clothes, police brutality, salads, birds, the Saint Slayers group.

( Abilities )
Sonic and Vibration Manipulation: Limited to muting the sounds of his own footsteps, heartbeat, and breathing to make himself harder to detect as well as having enhanced sense of hearing. Shoji can use this power offensively in the form of a concussive blast of sound to repel his targets, deflect bullets, propel himself to longer distances, and fire orbs of compressed air at his enemies. His power over vibrations are on the molecular level, granting him the ability to "soften" whatever material he touches to make them easier to destroy.
Natural Athlete: Shoji is a natural when it comes to sports, born with great athletic potential. He is an experienced judoka, and plays baseball with his friends from time to time. He received tutoring in Kyokushin karate, Muay Thai, and jujutsu from his brother, combining it with his judo, tricking, and street-fighting experience giving him a well-balanced skill set. Shoji excels in acrobatic freerunning the most, being able to jump from roof to roof and land from a great height without hurting himself even before becoming superhuman. This gives him plenty of stamina even before he became superhuman. He is also naturally nimble and light on his feet, making him a good dancer and agile fighter.
Enhanced Physiology: Starting on the lower end of the superhuman spectrum, he got exponentially stronger with age and practice. His enhanced strength allows him to easily break door locks and chains with his bare hands, eventually allowing him to lift in tons at maximum. His durability allows him to withstand numerous gunshots with only minor discomfort, and grants him an accelerated healing factor. His superhuman agility allows him to do complicated acrobatic moves and compensate for his lack of fighting experience.
Self-taught Spy and Thief: Shoji can be a crafty person in a pinch, which makes him the perfect spy, retriever, and deliverer. He is capable of infiltrating secured places undetected. Shoji takes advantage of the environment and prefers a more tactical approach in defeating his more powerful enemies. His sleight-of-hand skill proves useful in very certain situations. His preferred weapon are a pair of wrist bands that can generate a holographic gauntlet and disks of energy that he can use as a shield, have them mimic circular saw blades for close-combat, or throw them at his enemies like a boomerang.

( History )
Shoji lives in an alternate universe in the near-future. He spent most of his youth in New York City with his father and step-mother, and rolled with the wrong crowd that pressured him into petty crime. But after a tragic end with one of his group's regular victims, only then that Shoji began to realize the error of his ways. Despite taking a stand to his own friends for going too far, they decided to lump the blame on Shoji. After being expelled from his New York school, he moves back to Japan. He currently resides in Osaka and attends an international school to get away from the drama and start over. Shoji lives with his older brother Ryonosuke, who works for the police force and is his closest ally in this weird adventure.

Shoji's life took a turn to the strange when he was looking for a part-time job. Answering a shady job application he found on the school bulletin board out of morbid curiosity, Shoji went on to see what this is about, finding himself in the backstreets of Osaka and entering a mysterious red door at the market. Inside was an empty white room with a strange man who speaks in outdated phrases. The man immediately hired Shoji on the spot after sensing his "potential", asking Shoji to be an errand runner for his customers. The job was simple and revolved mostly on delivering or retrieving packages to and from seemingly regular people.

Desperate to help his brother pay rent and not feel like a burden, Shoji reluctantly accepted the job even if it's a little shady. He went on to run errands for this man until he got curious about these packages he'd been delivering. Red pills, carrying some liquid that looked like melted silver within. He didn't know what urged him to take one of them, but doing so caused a change in his body, giving him superhuman abilities. Shocked at the turn of events, Shoji wanted to quit. But the man who hired him have convinced Shoji to stay since nobody else is taking the job,
at least until they all leave to return home to the "other world" where they came from. Not only that, but Shoji's life is now bound on taking these red pills regularly, or else he'd die. Once all that is said and done, Shoji can be given the cure and return to his normal human life.

Shoji's world grew much larger since then, eventually meeting other beings that he thought only exists in myths, hiding in the human world and taking our form in disguise. Aside from running their errands and delivering their stuff, Shoji eventually finds himself befriending these otherworldly people by doing personal favors for them before they depart the human world, giving him a sense of peace and redemption for his past crimes. He abandons his delinquent ways and matures with each new friend he makes out of them. But the more he worked for this strange delivery company, the more he sees clues that point toward a mysterious crime syndicate of
humans wielding extraordinary powers like himself.

He initially didn't want to get involved and cause trouble with a group that could easily make his life a living hell, but the further he ignored their crimes of kidnapping these otherworldly visitors he grew to care for, the more it nagged at his conscience. After revealing his secret to his brother and convinced him to help, Shoji eventually decided to put a stop to it and use his power for good, waging a one-man crusade against this group simply known as the "Saint Slayers", and find out what their motive is with these alien visitors.
